After months and months of planning, preparation and hard work, Peggy has her grand reveal at our wedding in June. For those that have followed her story (thank you) she has been a labour of love for us and we feel she is well worth it. This is what we did:
  • Recovered her bright seat cushions with a more calming grey
  • Made new pale blue spotty curtains
  • Made new matching cushions
  • Wallpapered a few rough patches
  • Painted her walls, cupboards, ceiling and trim inside
  • Added statement wallpaper to the cupboards
  • Fitted new door knobs
  • Painted the top half of the front door with blackboard paint and wallpapered the bottom
  • Installed warm white lighting
  • Fitted a new door mat
  • Made a step for outside with an old wine crate
  • Sent her off for a caravan MOT to make sure the electrics, gas, floor and breaks were safe (apparently she was in an amazing condition for a 30+ year old caravan)
It was a lot of work, Robbie and I my mum did most of it, I had the fun job of decorating her for the wedding. I hung little fairly lights with gold circle garlands across the front window as this was were most people would be for their photos. Some lovely little KIKO frames to hang photos of the cats; Bruce and Eddie in. We also got photos of all our families on their wedding day, this was so nice to do with the family, seeing how our grandparents, parents and brothers celebrated and what they wore! We also had a few props in a wooden crate for the photos which seemed to go down well. Plus all the left over flowers in vases. My dad hung bunting and festoon lights outside and the two large milk churns me and the mums filled with flowers sat by the door to welcome everyone.

We had a lot of people asking where we got her from, we were like proud parents explaining that she was ours! She was a great hit, so many people going in to have a look around and take photos. We even found a couple of my girlfriends in there having a nap in the afternoon!

She now tucked up for the winter in her dulux storage cover! We’re looking forward to many more adventures for our little Peggy. x
